The TCS4525 is a high-frequency, high-currentsynchronous step-down de-de converter optimized tosupply the different sub systems of smart-phones.Tablets, and portable applications powered by one cel!Li-lon or three cell Alkaline/NiCd/NiMH batteries. Thedevice is able to deliver up to 6A. with programmableoutput voltage from 0.6 y to 1.4V.
The TCS4525 operates at 3-MHz fixed switchingfrequency which allows the use of small low cosinductors and capacitors. During light load conditions.the regulator includes a PFM mode to enhancelight-load efciency. The regulator transitions smoothlybetween PWM and PFM modes.Synchronousrectification and automatic PWM/PFM transitionsimprove overall efficiency.
The serial interface is compatible with Fas/Standardand High-Speed mode specification allowingtransfers at up to 3.4 Mbps. This communicationinterface is used for dynamic voltage scaling withvoltage steps down to 6.25 mV, for reprogramming themode of operation(PFM or Forced PWM)odisable/enabling the output voltage.
